ALA November Meeting

Our November meeting was Tuesday Nov. 7th at 5:30 at the Post Home. Call to order, opening prayer, Resolution 288-POW/MIA, Pledge of Allegiance, National Anthem, Preamble, Roll Call and all the reports from the various officers and committee heads started the meeting.

Janice Doering reported that the scholarship info has been sent out to the schools. If there is anyone who has a child or grandchild interested in a scholarship to please pick up a form and summit it.

Mary Swensen reported that Rehab at the Veterans Home is going well. Bingo, of course is a big draw. Along with Bingo they have been having more music and entertainment events. There was a Drone demonstration by the Police Dept.– the drone was able to be purchased with the donation from our American Legion Auxiliary Unit #16. The members enjoyed that very much. Dollar Days also was a great time.

Several other items were discussed, contribution to the United Way was approved. Possible soup luncheon at the Vets home was discussed, maybe Jan. or Feb.

At our next meeting ( Dec. 5th) we will be making centerpieces for the Veterans Home. Please come and help if you can. You are always welcome to attend the meetings, they are the 1st Tuesday of the month, 5:30 pm at the Post Home in Norfolk ( 3206 Raasch Dr. Suite 200) next to Flooring Solutions west of the Hospital.
