Our meeting took place on August 1st at the post home. Before the meeting we were informed on how to use the web site. It was very informative and hopefully this will help to get information out to everyone.
Our meeting opened with a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Old business and new business was discussed. The BBQ supper that was held for members from the Veterans Home in Norfolk on July 20th was very successful. Plenty of good food and even music to entertain everyone. I believe a good time was had by all!! Thank You to everyone that helped, either by setting up, cleaning up, helping serve and of course the excellent salads and desserts that were provided. Hopefully we can do this again!!
Some items to remember: Please keep track of any volunteer time you do. This can include helping at the Veterans Home,O church, school or an organization etc. as long as it is volunteering.
Dues can be paid anytime now. they are $35. Make checks payable to American Legion Auxiliary.
Our next meeting will be September 5th at 5:30 pm at the Post 16 home – 3206 Raasch Dr. Suite 200 Norfolk. We will have special guests- the two Girl Staters that were chosen to attend this years conference. It should be very exciting to hear about all their adventures from Lincoln this June.
Please try to attend our meetings. They are the 1st Tuesday of each month at 5:30 pm. at the post home. We would love to see some new faces!
