The ALA met on April 2nd at the Post Home. Spring is somewhat in the air but I don’t think Mother Nature is trying very hard!! We had all the usual opening procedures. Discussed old business which included the new Flag that was given to the YMCA has not been installed yet, waiting for equipment to aid in that. The Legion Birthday Party was wonderful, a huge Thank You to everyone that helped. We are also sponsoring 4 Girl Staters this year, they all interviewed wonderfully and should represent Norfolk well.
New business was discussed such as nominees are needed for next months election of officers. If anyone would want to be an officer please come to the meeting and we will get you elected!! Also April, May & June our Unit #16 sponsors Veterans Home Bingo so we are responsible for the treats also anybody that would like to help with bingo is encouraged to come. They are the 3rd Monday at 2:00 pm. April 29th we will be having a Pie Social at the Veterans Home in Norfolk, as of this time I do believe we have enough pies.
We closed the meeting with the Penny March and closing Prayer. Hopefully we will get plenty of April showers to bring those May Flowers. Next meeting will be May 7th , 5:30 at the Post Home in Norfolk.
