Happy New Year ! I hope the new year is starting out good for everyone. I’m somewhat late on this post, but at least its still January.
We had our meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 2nd at the post home. President Laree opened the meeting followed by Prayer, Resolution288-POW/MIA, National Anthem, Preamble & Roll Call. There were just a handful of us but we still carried on.
Reports: Membership(Jolene Smith) 100 members; Americanism(Karen Deets) Flag given to Westside School; Scholarship(Janice Doering) Due by March 1st.; Rehab(Mary Swensen)The Christmas Parties & New Years was enjoyed by all and much appreciated
Old Business: Thank You’s were received for the Gift Cards sent to Janice Doerings grandchildren who are serving in the Military.
At the end of last months meeting we made centerpieces for the tables at the Veterans Home. They were delivered and set on the tables(rec room) for the month of January. The centerpieces were snowmen(women) and the members really seem to enjoy them.
Some discussion was about activities for this year (2024) If anyone has ideas please bring them to the next meeting!
It was a fairly short meeting. We closed with the Penny March and a closing Prayer.
